In the Summer of 2005 Jason Fawcett bought a Martin Backpacker guitar to accompany him during the fulfillment his dream, walking the Appalachian Trail. That August, he arrived at the Columbia Guitar Studio for lessons.
The following is from an e mail sent from somewhere in the woods of Maine...
So I have about hiked through Maine.
Very beautiful
But all that solitude that I thought I'd find is not there.
I see about 10 to 100 people a day doing the same thing.
Still it is great, and I see a few hikers who carry those backpacker guitars.
That classical piece of music you played for me was amazing and that moment is still in my head; however the notes our not, what is still in my head is your passion when you played it.
Thanks,
jason
Hear the Students at the COLUMBIA GUITAR STUDIO
Students can begin guitar starting at age six and above.
Does your teacher have a degree in music? Do they teach note reading? How long have they been teaching? Do students regularly perform in recitals? Do they have a chance to play with others on a regular basis? These are some of the questions to ask a teacher when deciding where to study guitar.
During each lesson at the Columbia Guitar Studio, elements of technique, musicianship and repertoire are covered. The instruction is curriculum based, meaning that skills are introduced in the correct order and incrementally.
